Experience

Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon with 18 years of rich experience in high volume Cardio Thoracic Centers in India. Skills include comprehensive management of adult, pediatric cardiac, thoracic & complex vascular surgery patients. Presently Director Cardio-Thoracic & Vascular Surgery at Accord Superspeciality Hospital, Faridabad, India. I am also officiating as Adj. Professor and Head of the Department of Cardio-Thoracic & Vascular Surgery at Govt ESI Medical College, NIT-3, Faridabad, India.

ESI Hospital and Medical College is a 625 bedded Superspeciality educational institution affiliated to Pt. Bhagwant Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. It was established in 2015 under the aegis of ESI Corporation by the Ministry of Labor & Employment, Govt. of India. The medical college has a yearly intake of 125 MBBS students and over 45 specialty and Superspeciality postgraduates in various disciplines of modern medicine.

In my capacity as Professor and Head of the Department, we conduct daily outpatient clinics and are in the process of setting up a state-of-the-art cardiac surgical service catering to ESI beneficiaries with all forms of adult and congenital heart diseases and various vascular maladies.

Accord Super-Specialty Hospital is a 550 bedded tertiary care facility at the forefront of providing the latest in Cardio-Thoracic Vascular care in this geographical region. This ultra-modern hospital has been recently inaugurated with the concept of wholistic and inclusive healthcare. We are part of a large cardiac sciences team including 3 leading adult cardiologists, 2 pediatric cardiologists and 2 cardiac surgeons and 2 cardiac anesthetists with over 7 adult and pediatric cardiac intensive care doctors and 100 specialized ICU nurses, OT Nurses and technicians, perfusion technology and ECMO experts. Our team undertakes routine operation of all forms of Adult & Congenital heart surgeries, complex thoracic operations, and advanced vascular surgeries.

Over the past 4 years my team has successfully operated 1900 cardiac surgeries that include routine CABG, Minimal access multi vessel CABG, Mitral Valve repairs, MICS-Mitral/Aortic Valve replacements, Aortic Aneurysm surgeries like Bentall, AAA repair etc. We are one of North India’s top Minimal Access Cardiac Surgery teams with a cumulative experience of over 500 MICS procedures including multi-vessel CABG and MVR/AVR. Our team has undertaken more than 500 Mitral Valve Repairs and Aortic/Tricuspid valve repairs over our professional career and are considered experts in the same in our geography of operation.

Our team was empaneled with National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and Ministry of Health-Iraq for operating children with simple and complex congenital heart conditions. We have operated over 300 such children over the past 4 years. All forms of complex and simple congenital heart diseases ranging from simple ASD/VSD/TOF/Coarctation of aorta to complex Arterial Switch Operations, Single Ventricle Physiology repairs (Glen/Fontan), Complete AV canal repairs, TAPVC/PAPVC, Truncus and Arch interruption repairs to name a few. The team has the enviable track record of 0% mortality in the last 300 congenital heart surgeries undertaken.

The team undertakes complex vascular procedures and is one of the five, Level-5 vascular teams in Delhi-NCR. My team has special expertise in TEVAR (Total Endo Vascular Aneurysm Repair) for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms, Thoraco-abdominal and pure Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms like Aortic Dissections Type A/B. We specialize in advanced endovascular thrombo-dissection for DVT and Pulmonary Embolism. Peripheral arterial diseases are routinely addressed by Angioplasty and/or arterial bypass operations of the aortic/femoral and infra genicular axis.

Our team undertakes TAVR (Trans Catheter Aortic Valve Replacement) and has done 6 procedures at QRG till date. The team is trained for end-stage heart failure supports like LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) & Heart transplant, having been part of North India’s largest transplant/VAD team at Max Saket. I am LVAD/Transplant certified by Heartmate Inc. I am part of INSHLT (Indian Society of Heart and Lung Transplant) and am Life member of Indian association of Cardio Thoracic Surgeons.
