What are the services offered under clinical psychology?

Clinical psychologists and psychiatrists treat patients with the help of approaches validated by modern research and customized as per the individual needs of a person. The centre specializes in providing diagnosis and evidence based treatments that have been accepted all around the world as a treatment option for a wide number of problems. Some of the therapies commonly offered to patients for handling problems like anxiety, depression, anger, stress, trauma and addiction include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy: Also known as CBT, this is a psychotherapeutic treatment that helps the people in identifying and changing disturbing or destructive thought patterns having a negative influence on emotions. It is often the prescribed treatment for anxiety, depression and other emotional difficulties. CBT helps in replacing these negative thoughts with realistic and objective thoughts.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: Popularly known as ACT, this therapy may be considered as newer version of Cognitive behavioural therapy. It helps in incorporating acceptance and mindfulness as a way of dealing with negative circumstances, feelings, thoughts or symptoms. It is often used for treating wide range of psychological and physical disorders.
  • Dialactical Behavioural Therapy: Termed as DBT, this is a more complex and specialized treatment module used for helping people suffering from complex mental problems. It helps in identifying and changing negative thinking pushes and patterns suffered in suicidal and self destructive behaviours.
  • Schema Therapy: Schema therapy is an integrative mental health approach that brings the various elements from attachment and object relations theory, cognitive behaviour therapy and experiential Gestalt therapy for treating a patient. It has been mainly designed for addressing the several personality disorders as well as other mental health concerns that do not respond to other treatment options.
